Marco Materazzi has denied recent press speculation that he asked to leave Inter.Internazionale's Marco Materazzi has denied recent press speculation that he asked to leave the Nerazzurri.
The ex-Everton man has been out of favour recently due to coach Roberto Mancini's preference for Sinisa Mihajlovic, but came off the bench to score against Livorno on Thursday.
Materazzi professed his love for the club and emphasised that there was no problem between himself and his boss.
"The answer I gave on the pitch was a response to the last few days' speculation, and especially for those who said my professionalism could be affected by this situation," said the 31-year-old.
"I've never asked to leave Inter, because I'm not a person who escapes facing difficulties.
"I love Inter and I hope to be wearing this jersey for many other years, a jersey for which I consider myself lucky, happy and proud for wearing.
"I have said nothing to Mancini and I'm asking nothing, just to be respected. He made his choices, I've respected his decisions and if there have been disagreements this isn't a problem, these are things that happen between men."
