Sampdoria's Giulio Falcone wants the club to open talks.Sampdoria's Giulio Falcone is annoyed that the club have failed to open contract talks with him, with his club admitting they cannot afford to break their wage structure.
The defender is out of contract in the summer, but is dismayed that Samp have not opened negotiations over a longer stay.
"What's the chance of me staying here? You must ask the club," said Falcone.
"We were supposed to talk about it in January but it didn't happen.
"I won't deny that other clubs are in for me - but Sampdoria are my priority."
Sampdoria's general manager Giuseppe Marotta insists that the failure to open talks is purely for economical reasons.
"On Friday I spoke to his agent and we will meet in the next few days," insisted Marotta.
"We want to keep him but we can't compete with the likes of Inter, offering huge wages.
"We have a wage cap from which we have no intention of deviating."
