Dutch internationals Jaap Stam and Edgar Davids will miss the Milan derby. Both teams involved in the Milan derby on Sunday will have big name players missing, as Dutch internationals Jaap Stam and Edgar Davids are expected to sit out the tie.
Whilst Milan stopper Stam is injured following muscular problems, Davids will miss the tie for tactical reasons as he is currently out of favour at Internazionale.
Stam (pictured) picked up the knock in the warm-up to the UEFA Champions League tie with Manchester United, and will be rested in a bid to preserve the key defender for the rest of the season.
Inter midfielder Davids joined Roberto Mancini's side in June, although rumours persist that he will depart Giuseppe Meazza in the summer.
The 31-year-old was also snubbed for the midweek Champions League fixture with Porto, and is currently playing more of an understudy role to Juan Sebastian Veron.
Mancini has only used the tenacious star sporadically, and he may not feature in the tie that could be crucial in determining the destination of the Scudetto.
Internazionale can be effectively ruled out of the Serie A race if they fail to win, whilst a good victory will give Milan a huge boost in their duel with Juventus.
