Inter's injury problems are mounting up ahead of their European tie with Milan.Internazionale's injury problems are mounting up ahead of their UEFA Champions League tie with city rivals Milan.
The two Serie A adversaries meet in the first leg of their quarter final on Wednesday but Inter coach Roberto Mancini has a selection headache.
He is already likely to be without Adriano and Alvaro Recoba, while Christian Vieri is a doubt for the tie.
But Mancini could now be missing Turkey international Emre Belozoglu after he picked up an injury on Sunday.
With the Serie A programme cancelled due to the Pope's death, Mancini put his stars into a friendly game against one of the club's youth team.
The plan backfired, though, as Emre suffered a slight thigh strain which makes him doubtful for the clash with Milan.
Emre will undergo further tests on Monday to discover the true extent of the injury but he is struggling to be fit for Wednesday's European battle.
Meanwhile, Inter have refuted suggestions of a rift with Edgar Davids after the midfielder missed training over the past two days.
Davids has returned to Holland for physiotherapy and Inter insist he has their permission and that there has been no bust-up.
