Veron aiming high

Juan Sebastian Veron has two major aims for next season.

Juan Sebastian Veron says his aims for next term are to land the Scudetto with Internazionale and earn a place in Argentina's World Cup squad.

Veron completed a permanent move to Inter from Chelsea this summer and he feels a Serie A title win is long overdue for the Giuseppe Meazza club.

"It's the moment for Inter to win the Scudetto," said Veron. "We won the Italian Cup this year and that was something important but our objective is the Scudetto."

Veron has slipped out of the reckoning for his country recently, but still feels he has the quality to represent Argentina and is hopeful of catching Jose Pekerman's eye.

"I hope to perform well at Inter in the next season so that maybe I will get the chance be recalled to the national team," added Veron. "I think that I am still good enough to get in the national team.

"I would like to know what is going to happen in the future so I can be calm about things. I miss not being in the national team.

"I want to play at the World Cup but it doesn't only depend on me, the coach is the person in charge and he will decide.

"If I repeat a good season at Inter then I am sure that I will have a new chance."
