Walter Samuel is delighted after netting a winning goal on his Serie A debut.Internazionale new boy Walter Samuel has spoken of his delight after netting a winning goal on his Serie A debut for the club.
The tough tackling Argentina international scored a decisive goal against Chievo on his Nerazzurri bow, having completed a three game suspension.
Samuel, back in Italy after an unsuccessful sojourn in Spain with Real Madrid last season, has thanked his team-mates for the patience they showed during his enforced absence.
''I want to dedicate this goal to my sons, who recently celebrated their birthdays,'' Samuel told Sky Italia.
''I'm really happy with the match. I'm starting with a win after the ban. Really, I want to thank my team-mates who been close to me in the period in which I did not play for the club.
''The club too made a big effort in buying me and have always shown faith in me. It has been a hard match but we struggled and won.''
Inter coach Roberto Mancini had words of praise for the stopper, although indicated that he could improve his overall fitness.
''Samuel is a good player even if he's not in a good physical condition yet,'' said Mancini.
''Chievo are a good team, with players who know each other in a really good way, but the most important thing is to have left the pitch with three points.''
