Inter attacker Alvaro Recoba is hoping that he has not suffered a serious injury.Internazionale attacker Alvaro Recoba is keeping his fingers crossed that he has not suffered a serious injury.
Recoba limped out of Saturday's home win over Ascoli after picking up a muscle injury and was replaced by Obafemi Martins before the half-hour.
The Uruguayan ace will learn the full extent of the damage on Monday, with his participation in next weekend's Milan derby under threat.
He admits he could have continued playing against Ascoli, but felt it was more prudent to come off the pitch.
"I hope it will be a little problem," Recoba told Inter Channel.
"On Monday we will have checks and we will see.
"I've done something after which I felt I'd pulled the muscle.
"Maybe I could have continued playing, but I preferred to leave the pitch because I could worsen the situation.
"It was better not to risk a more serious injury."
