Internazionale defeated Roma 3-1 in the second leg of the Coppa Italia final to secure the trophy.
The tie was evenly balanced at 1-1 going into the return fixture at the San Siro, but Inter turned on the style to claim their first, and only, piece of silverware this season.
Argentine Esteban Cambiasso opened the scoring with a spectacular volley (6) and Julio Cruz rounded keeper Doni to hand the Nerazzurri a healthy first half cushion
Roma showed more resistance after the break, but the game was sewn up by Obafemi Martins' strike in the 76th minute.
Congolese forward Shabani Nonda pulled a goal back for Roma in the 80th minute, while Francesco Totti made a welcome return from injury, but Inter held on for the victory.
Roma must now focus their energies on trying to finish fourth in Serie A and gaining qualification to the UEFA Champions League.
