Guarin, who was linked to clubs such as Chelsea and Juventus as late as this January, put an end to speculation over his future when renewing his deal at the San Siro last month.
The 27-year-old nearly secured a move to Juventus as part of a reported swap deal in January, with striker Mirko Vucinic headed the other way.
Inter president Erick Thohir pulled the plug on the deal, however, and Guarin has since extended his deal at the Italian club.
The Colombian has also expressed his wish to stay at the club beyond his current deal, handing the side currently sat fifth in Serie A and chasing a European spot a significant boost.
"I have agreed a deal for another three years. I hope to sign another contract once that one's up", he said at a Nike event on Friday.
"I have not signed thinking that I will leave. I feel good here."
Inter's hopes of Champions League qualification look incredibly slim, with Walter Mazzarri's men 14 points off third-placed Napoli with just six games to go.
Europa League qualification for next season is still a possibility, with a two-point cushion on Lazio in seventh.
While Guarin admits that Inter haven't had it easy recently, the midfielder has issued a rallying cry to his team-mates ahead of a crucial run-in.
"It's been a difficult year, but we have to face up to those problems if we want to achieve our goals. We absolutely need to win the next game against Sampdoria on Sunday," he added.
"So far we haven't been lucky in any sense, this season. But we're looking forward to this weekend.
"We just have to think about the next game and then the next one after that. Sunday is important for us. We simply have to win."
