Both men have an uneasy working relationship with the pair criticising each other in the past.
Roma have endured a disappointing season, failing to sustain a serious title challenge finishing in eighth spot and only qualifying for Europe through reaching the final of the Coppa Italia.
Sensi has hinted that Capello is unhappy in the Italian capital and that he expects offers for the former Milan and Real Madrid coach.
"The problem with Capello is that he still holds hope for something," said Sensi. "Let's hope that happens even if I won't say anything else.
"Our relationship is a normal one between a president and a coach who is technically very good at his job.
"It's not quite like a marriage because it is not that serious. Maybe we are more like lovers."
Sensi has also revealed the club plans to make four new signings during pre-season and he identified their summer transfer targets.
"In fact we've already completed two in Olivier Dacourt and Brazilian winger Mancini who is at Venezia.
"We will then buy either Nicola Legrottaglie (Chievo) or Cribari (Empoli) for the defence. While in attack we want Mido, the Ajax man who is currently at Celta Vigo on loan."
Meanwhile, Roma have announced they have asked the club's players to take a 25 percent wage cut for next season.
The Giallorossi are the latest Italian club to take such drastic steps to tighten their belts as a number of sides experience serious financial problems.
As yet there has been no reaction to the request from Roma players, but it could spark a mass exodus from the Stadio Olimpico if the players are unhappy with the terms.
