The defender has been the subject of a bid from Roma and is also attracting the interest of champions Juventus.
Roma are adamant they will not be upping their offer for Legrottaglie and are refusing to be held to ransom in the chase for his services.
Regarding Legrottaglie's future, the ball is now in Chievo's court with sporting director Giovanni Sartori confirming the club's stance on the stopper.
"I want to underline that Chievo haven't the intention to open any auction for Legrottaglie's transfer," Sartori told calciomanager.it.
"We are not playing to increase his price.
"We are just waiting for the right offer that, until now, hasn't arrived from the clubs interested in our player."
Roma appear to be favourites to secure Legrottaglie's signature as the defender admits he is honoured by the fact the capital club were the first to declare an interest.
He said: "I have had affection for Roma since their first signal arrived because they have been the first club to look for me.
"Between Turin and Roma, I say the latter because they are hottest. Certainly, if I go to Juve, I join the Italian champions.
"Both requests are important. I hope to know something more about my future tomorrow (Thursday)."
