The Giallorossi have held a long-term interest in the tigerish midfielder and tried to buy him last summer.
Davids is poised to leave Juve at the end of the season having failed to agree on a new deal at Stadio Delle Alpi.
The Dutch international is out of contract next summer and has so far refused to sign a new deal with the Bianconeri, leaving him as free to talk to foreign clubs from January.
Sensi is willing to wait for the former Ajax and Milan ace and sign him on a free transfer next summer and therefore be able to offer him a lucrative contract.
"In June, we will buy Davids. We will do it just at the end of season, so, thanks to the fact he will be a free agent, we could present him a good contract," said Sensi.
Sensi also acknowledged the fact that Roma need a big squad to compete with the best teams in Europe, but he believes his side have an advantage over their rivals in having Francesco Totti in the team.
"There are strong teams other than Roma - Juventus, Manchester (United), Real Madrid and Chelsea. But, in addition to the others, we have Francesco Totti," added Sensi.
"I'll do everything to allow him to become even greater, but I also know I need to have a big squad."
Roma have made an encouraging start to the new season, leading Serie A, but Sensi is refusing to get carried away despite many people tipping them for the title.
"I don't think about this, but I hope and I believe in it," said Sensi.
