The Eternal City outfit are nine points behind Milan but could reduce that to six points by winning their game in hand.
Pelizzoli believes Milan can still falter enough for Roma to make up the ground and pip them at the post.
"On Saturday against Chievo it will be really important to win," said Pelizzoli. "We still hope to win the title.
"In my opinion, with wins in all our last matches it is possible to win the title.
"Roma can win all our matches, but it's not easy."
Pelizzoli is hoping Milan have a stutter in their form, as they have recently by just drawing with both Chievo and Modena.
"Milan having a fall is natural - they couldn't maintain that level for the whole season.
"Let's hope their fall could continue until the end of season. We must absolutely win the face-to-face against them.
"We have a little advantage; we play with a most serene mind, they feel the pressure."
As for his personal aims, Pelizzoli admitted that until now it has been a positive year, considering he received a call-up to the national squad from Giovanni Trapattoni.
"It has been a good season. I must improve a lot to be at my best in a few years.
"I see myself as the third keeper of National team, and I hope to be so."
