Perrotta seals Roma move

Roma have sealed the signing of Simone Perrotta from Serie A rivals Chievo.

New Roma coach Cesare Prandelli has been eyeing the talented midfielder for some time, and the two clubs finally agreed on a deal on Tuesday evening.

A fee of around ‚é¼7 million has been touted in recent weeks, but the exact details of the transfer have not yet been released by the clubs.

The Flying Donkeys had not wanted Perrotta to leave Verona, but the lure of Rome and the Stadio Olimpico proved too much for him to refuse.

He had been linked with a move to European champions Porto after former Chievo coach Luigi Delneri took up the post at Estadio do Dragao.

However, Perrotta has decided to remain in Serie A, and Prandelli is pleased to have snared the highly-rated midfield man.

The Giallorossi boss had identified Perrotta as the man he wanted to replace Emerson after the Brazilian moved to Juventus.
