The temperamental Italy international is facing a crunch period in his career with his Roma contract expiring next summer.
Roma are anxious to retain the services of Cassano and have been locked in contract talks with the 22-year-old.
Cassano has yet to follow the examples of team-mates Francesco Totti and Vincenzo Montella in signing an extension and has regularly been linked with Juventus.
The Serie A champions were widely expected to meet Roma officials this week to discuss a possible transfer.
But Juve have downplayed talk of an offer for the attacker by conceding they cannot afford the player this summer.
"We haven't got the financial possibilities to buy Cassano," admitted Juve general manager Luciano Moggi.
"Juve must adapt themselves to signing free agents."
Real Madrid have been long-standing admirers of Cassano and Roma are likely to sell the starlet if they fail to strike a deal for a new contract.
