Despite recovering from a muscle injury he sustained two weeks ago, the striker has been told that he will not play for the Italian outfit until he agrees a new deal.
According to the Italian press, coach Luciano Spalletti is ready to recall the striker for their game against Siena, but officials at the club have rebuffed the idea until the 23-year-old has committed his future to the club.
Cassano looked to have agreed a contract extension a few weeks ago, thought to be worth é¼3.2 million for up to four seasons, but has since pulled out.
Roma are understood to be staying firm on the offer currently on the table and have no intention of improving it.
