Enzo Bearzot feels the Azzurri have a live chance of landing this summer's World Cup.
Former Italian national team coach Enzo Bearzot feels the Azzurri have a live chance of landing this summer's World Cup, with Luca Toni and Francesco Totti two players he feels can spark their charge in Germany.
Italy last tasted success under Bearzot's stewardship in 1982 and he feels Marcello Lippi's men have a good chance of emulating his side.
Bearzot is hopeful Roma talisman Totti can return to fitness in time to figure and feels Fiorentina marksman Toni can be a real weapon in front of goal.
"Who can be the new Paolo Rossi? As striker, I think Toni. He's great," Bearzot told Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"There is the need for two players to mark him.
"Totti is a star, I would have wanted him.
"(Giancarlo) Antognoni was good, but Totti is a champion."
