Chievo have played down speculation linking Franco Semioli with a move to Roma.
Chievo's sporting director Giovanni Sartori has played down speculation linking Italy international Franco Semioli with a move to Roma in January.
The Giallorossi are known to be firm admirers of the winger, with the club attempting to prise the player away from The Flying Donkeys on more than one occasion this past summer.
Then Chievo resisted the overtures of Luciano Spalletti's side, and they are determined to do likewise should Roma come calling once more when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
And Sartori also insisted that his side had received no contact from Roma since rejecting the capital club's opening gambit.
"The last thing we are thinking about at the moment is Semioli's transfer," Sartori said. "It is also true that Roma do not think every day about possible incomings and outgoings.
"Last summer, it is true, there was negotiation - Roma made us an offer, but we did not consider it adequate.
"I can assure everyone that since the market closed, there has been no further contact."
