Juve kick off with a win

After all the wrangling over TV money, Marcello Lippi's men finally got the defence of their Scudetto underway at Stadio Delle Alpi against Atalanta.
A brace from Alessandro Del Piero and one from Slavatore Fresi settled the game for the champions with his goals coming on 27 and 34 minutes, and Fresi's late effort getting the hosts off to a winning start.
Last season's surprise package Chievo Verona started where they left off last term by upsetting the odds to earn a 3-2 win at Stadio Olimpico.
Diego Simeone got the home side off to a perfect start after five minutes but the visitors signalled their intent by drawing level just nine minutes later.
New signing Oliver Bierhoff put Chievo into the lead when the German netted three minutes after the interval to give the visitors the hope of another shock result.
Bernardo Corradi squared the game at 2-2 in the 64th minute but The Flying Donkeys showed they have lost none of their fighting spirit by grabbing the three points just six minutes later through Ivano Della Morte.
Parma took the lead against Udinese at Friuli with Romanian Adrian Mutu's 23rd minute goal although Valentino Alberto notched in the 53rd minute to share the spoils.
Perugia enjoyed a winning start to their campaign as they recorded a 2-0 home win against Reggina.
The visitors had the better of the first half but Perugia turned things around in the second period and took their chance through Fabrizio Miccoli and Giovanni Tedesco to grab three points.
Piacenza also opened their account with a win when they came from behind to grab a 2-1 win away at Brescia.
Jonathan Bachini opened the scoring for the home side after 68 minutes only for Johnnier Montano to level things up just four minutes later.
Dario Hubner netted the winner for the visitors eleven minutes from time to get Piacenza off to the perfect start.
