Roberto Mancini has stressed that Lazio cannot afford to sell players during January if they want to secure some silverware this term.
The Roman club are in dire financial strife, which has led to speculation that a number of players could be removed from the wage bill during January's transfer window.
Midfield architect Dejan Stankovic is the club's most prized asset and is being strongly linked with a transfer to Internazionale, but Mancini has urged the club to put any deal for the Serbo-Montenegrin on hold until the summer.
"The Coppa Italia is a competition we value highly," Mancini said on the eve of the quarter final clash with Parma.
"We also have a strong will to make a positive reaction in the league.
"For these reasons I need to keep the squad as it is. It can't be allowed that we let players leave during the market.
"I include Stankovic in this because we have no other players with his characteristics."
