Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told striker Mario Balotelli he should look for another club after failing to secure a regular place at Anfield.

Balotelli has returned for pre-season training following an unsuccessful loan spell at Milan but appears to be behind Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Christian Benteke and Danny Ings in Klopp's pecking order.

"I have spoken to him about this," said Klopp. "He's not at the stage of his career where he should be battling with four or five other players for one or two positions... so it's clear we need a solution.

"There will be a club around who would be happy to have the new Mario Balotelli. I have spoken clearly to the player about that."

The 25-year-old has scored just four goals in 28 appearances for the Reds since joining from Milan for £16m in August 2014.
