The Rossoneri have already secured deals that will see Atlanta starlets Massimo Donati and Cristian Zenoni move to the club at the end of the season and now they have striker Fausto Rossini in their sights and are prepared to offer Comandini to land the 23-year-old.
Rossini's goals in the first half of the season played a key part in the provincial club's rise to the top of the Serie A table, but injuries have limited the Italian Under-21 international's appearances.
Following the sales of Zenoni and Donati and the likely departure of Cristiano Doni, it was expected Atalanta would resist any more offers for their players but the seemingly injury plagued Rossini may be allowed to move in return for Comandini.
Comandini arrived at the Giuseppe Meazza only last summer after scoring 20 goals to help Vicenza to the Serie B title last season, but his appearances for Milan have been restricted and he has scored just one goal this campaign, that coming in the Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb back in September.
The future of Rossini is also likely to be linked with that of Nicola Ventola.
The Inter striker is currently on loan at Atalanta and it is believed the club are keen to make Ventola's move a permanent one.
Ventola is finally showing the kind of form that persuaded Inter to pay over £9 million for him three years ago when he was a raw 19-year-old at Bari.
The player's recent form, though, has increased Inter's asking price, possibly out of the reach Atalanta, although the Nerazzuri are prepared to do a deal involving two more of Atalanta's highly-rated youngsters - Gianpaolo Bellini and Luciano Zauri.
Atalanta have previously rebuffed Inter's advances for Bellini and Zauri but with the latter banned for one season they may be ready to consider a swap in order to retain the services of Ventola, although they are likely to face competition from other suitors for the striker.
