The 19-year-old played for San Lorenzo last season and, after Milan bought him last January, the Rossoneri think that he is not yet ready for Serie A and should get some first-team experience in Spain first.
Coloccini should return at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium next summer.
Meanwhile, Italian International midfielder Demetrio Albertini is still injured but is expected to be ready for next month.
Rossoneri medical staff are working hard to try to get him fit to play in the first Champions League qualifying match in August.
Next Thursday Milan will meet Ajax in their first international friendly match of this summer.
