Brazilian media outlets have questioned Ancelotti's decision in leaving the former Barcelona star out of his starting line-up after impressing on international duty.
Ancelotti is not concerned at the criticism and insists that he has nothing against Rivaldo.
"I couldn't care less," said Ancelotti of the criticism. "It makes me laugh when I hear that Kaka and Rivaldo can play together for Brazil but not for Milan.
"What they should remember is that I also have players such as Shevchenko, Inzaghi and Rui Costa at my disposal here.
"I have nothing against Rivaldo. There is just intense competition for places here.
"Milan never play with two attacking midfielders. We use two strikers instead and I'm happy with what Rui Costa and Kaka are doing when called upon."
The Rossoneri chief also had words of hope for unhappy midfielder Massimo Ambrosini.
The Italian international has expressed his discontent at his lack of involvement this season, but Ancelotti insists he is a part of his plans.
"He is an excellent midfielder," added Ancelotti. "He's been sacrificed so far but he must not lose hope.
"The importance of a player can not and should not be judged by how many games he has played."
