The agent of Ignazio Abate says the right-back will not be leaving AC Milan to join Mark Hughes' Manchester City

Ignazio Abate will not be joining Manchester City, according to the player's agent. City have been linked with a move for the AC Milan right-back, but agent Claudio Pasqualin said that the 23-year-old would not be leaving the San Siro. Abate is apparently happy at the club and will not be making a January switch to the Premier League big-spenders. Pasqualin said that the player would be opening contract negotiations with the Italian giants. "I've also heard these rumours, but they have no basis," Pasqualin told Calciomercatonews.com. "Certainly these things are pleasing because it means that they are all realising the potential of the player. "The truth is that Abate is very happy at Milan and Milan are very happy with Abate. To confirm this I can anticipate that we will meet soon with Milan to deal with the contract extension."
