France international does not expect problems in contract talks

Philippe Mexes is not in a rush to sign a contract extension at Roma, but he is confident that there will be 'no problems'. The Serie A club revealed last week that talks regarding a new deal have started with the France international's representative. Roma president Rosella Sensi has been involved in the discussions and Mexes says that his agent is due to attend a meeting with the club. But the 28-year-old is also not worried about his future, despite the fact that his current contract expires at the end of the season. "My relationship with the Sensi family has always been based on transparency and mutual trust," Mexes is quoted as saying in Italian media. "I have always claimed that there is no hurry with regard to the contract. My agent is occupying himself with it. "It's a while since he has heard from the club and I know that in the next few days they will meet in Rome. "I am certain that there will be no problems. Any decision made about my future will be in total harmony with the club to which I owe a lot."
