Eugenio Corini says he wants to force his way into Marcello Lippi's plans.
Palermo captain Eugenio Corini has stated his ambition to force his way into Marcello Lippi's plans ahead of the World Cup finals this summer.
The veteran playmaker believes that he should be in Lippi's squad to provide cover for Andrea Pirlo and says that his recent form should be enough to earn him a chance with the Azzurri.
"I think I could be Pirlo's deputy in the national team," he told Palermo's official website.
"Considering the fact that Lippi always said the national team is open to everyone and, considering my efficiency during the last two seasons, I think that anything is possible.
"I can only think positively. Should I be called up, that would be fantastic."
