Luigi Del Neri admits that his side struggled against Maccabi Petach Tikva.
Luigi Delneri has admitted that Palermo struggled in beating Uefa Cup opponents Maccabi Petach Tikva on Thursday, although he now believes his squad can move forward.
The Rosaneri wasted a number of gilt-edged chances against the Israelis and were saved by yet another goal from free-scoring defender Christian Terlizzi.
The 25-year-old Roman has now notched five goals already this season, prompting Delneri to say: "I'm happy for him but he also has to think about stopping goals too, seeing as he is a defender."
The victory sees Parma move to the top of Group B, although the Rosaneri coach admitted the win was far from straightforward.
"It was a hard fought win," he continued. "However, my players were very focused and set on the three points.
"We did have a number of good chances to close the game earlier, but we unfortunately wasted them.
"It's important now that we go forward calmly though, even if we are aware that we are doing some good things."
