On-loan Siena keeper Antonio Mirante has been causing a stir this season.
On-loan Siena keeper Antonio Mirante has been causing a stir during this year's Serie A campaign.
Mirante, 22, produced a man-of-the-match display against Internazionale at the weekend, keeping the Tuscans six points clear of the relegation zone.
The 0-0 draw also saw his owners, Juventus, move 10 points clear of third place Inter.
Mirante is now being tipped to emulate current Juve keeper and Italy number one Gianluigi Buffon.
In reaction to the suggestion of being Buffon's successor, Mirante stated: "It's too soon, I'm just concentrating on working hard and trying to improve.
"I owe a lot to Siena and to Juve for allowing me to play here."
Palermo have reportedly been tracking the progress of the youngster, but he admitted that he hoped to end the season with Siena.
"I wish to stay here," he affirmed. "I feel good and I think it's right."
Mirante has made 18 league appearances this season and has helped Siena to 12th in the Serie A table.
