Juventus hammered Fiorentina 4-1, while Palermo edged a thrilller against Bari 5-4.Juventus progressed in the Coppa Italia after hammering Fiorentina 4-1 in their second leg, winning 6-3 on aggregate.
Fiorentina have been going well in the league, but were no match for their rampant opponents, who had a record-breaking Alessandro Del Piero running the show.
Del Piero scored a brilliant hat-trick to become Juve's all-time top scorer, with early goals after nine and 17 minutes followed up by a third from the penalty spot (56), while Adrian Mutu also struck (21).
Valeri Bojinov pulled a goal back for Viola (64), but it was never going to be enough.
In Tuesday's other game, Palermo edged a thriller against Bari 5-4 after a goalless first leg.
Palermo took a 2-1 lead into half time, with goals from Mariano Gonzalez (7) and a Eugenio Corini penalty (45), either side of a Daniele Vantaggio spot-kick for Bari (19).
The Serie B side equalised through Biagio Pagano (54), but Palermo hit back with three goals in six minutes. Paul Codrea (60), Christian Terlizzi (63) and Gonzalez (66) seemed to have wrapped the tie up, but Bari kept going until the end.
Vincenzo Santoruvo (68) and Luigi Anaclerio (78) brought the score back to 5-4, but Palermo held on to earn a place in the next round.
