Luca Toni rubbishes claims Fiorentina bolstered his salary to keep him in Florence.
Luca Toni has refuted claims Fiorentina bolstered his salary in the summer to keep him in at the Artemio Franchi.
The 29-year-old Italian ace denied rumours he was offered a cash boost to stay in Florence rather than accept the lure of Internazionale.
"There are some that say to remain here they offered me a lot of money. It is not true," Toni told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Diego Della Valle told me that I had to stay to give my help, that this would be a difficult year, so here I am."
Toni's deal with Viola expires in two years, but the striker has already indicated he wants to spend the rest of his career with the Tuscan club.
The club have also confirmed they are prepared to extend his current deal beyond 2009.
"There aren't problems. We will begin talks soon," he added.
