Malaga will be without the services of winger Joaquin for around four weeks because of an injury.
The 30-year-old suffered a torn right thigh muscle during the Champions for Africa benefit match on Thursday.
Subsequent tests have revealed that Joaquin, formerly at Real Betis and Valencia, will be out for at least one month and will miss Malaga's clash with Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey last 16 as well as Primera Liga fixtures against Atletico Madrid, Sporting Gijon, Barcelona and Sevilla.
Malaga are currently seventh in the Spanish first division with 24 points from 16 matches.
