The club are keen to strengthen the midfield department with Czech international Radoslav Latal set to leave at the end of the season to move back home and they have targeted Danish pair Dennis Rommedahl and Martin Jorgensen.
A number of clubs including Juventus are interested in Rommedahl and with the player contracted to PSV Eindhoven until 2005 any move seems destined to fail but there may be a better chance to sign Jorgensen, who has indicated that he plans to leave Udinese in the summer for a new challenge.
Jorgensen, who has attracted the interest of Internazionale, could be tempted to move to Schalke to team up with Danish international team-mate Ebbe Sand, but the transfer could fail if the Italian club demand too much money for the right-sided midfielder.
