Milan eye Felipe

Milan could move for Udinese's young defender Felipe.

Milan could move for Udinese's young defender Felipe da Silva as soon as the transfer window opens, after openly scouting the player in the match against Roma on Sunday.

Felipe is seen as an ideal player to begin to bring down the average age of the Rossoneri's back line, which includes 33-year-old Jaap Stam, Cafu aged 35 and veteran Paolo Maldini, 37.

Ariedo Braida was present to watch the prodigious talent, and it has fuelled rumours that a bid could be launched in the winter.

However, Udinese coach Serse Cosmi is attempting to cut down the rumours early.

"Felipe at Milan? He isn't ready for a big team yet," joked Cosmi. "Maybe he will be in two years' time.

"But seriously, he is a wonderful player with great technical qualities and of course he will join a big team.

"I am not surprised that Milan are looking at him, but I think he needs to be judged on big game performances, and the (UEFA) Champions League experience with us will be important."
