Sampdoria will appeal against the two-month ban handed to Francesco Flachi.
Sampdoria have confirmed they will appeal against the two-month ban handed to Francesco Flachi due to a betting scandal.
The striker was punished after the Italian league's disciplinary commission believed he "sought to gain information on the outcome of games" for a third party.
Atalanta's Morris Carrozzieri, formerly of Samp, was also punished for a similar offence in the latest scandal to hit Italian football.
Samp president Riccardo Garrone has now stated his hope that Flachi's ban might be annulled on appeal.
"I know the disciplinary commission needed a lot of time because the one involving Flachi is a case I have never seen," said Garrone.
"I really wish that with the appeal to the Federal Commission the ban could be annulled."
