The former Arsenal keeper had a decent spell in Italy with Siena, but opted to secure a move home this summer.
Manninger has thanked the club for enabling him to forge a successful career in Italy and also hailed the Siena supporters for making him feel so welcome in Tuscany.
"My experience in Siena has been fantastic," Manninger told the club's website. "I thank the supporters, the club's staff and all the officials who helped and sustained me in this adventure.
"Siena represents a launching pad for my career and I'll always be thankful to this city and their supporters for the affection showed for me.
"An affection that has been showed to me in particular in the most difficult moment of my season when, in October, I suffered a long injury."
After securing their Serie A survival, Siena are making plans for next season - with the club keen to retain the services of Middlesbrough striker Massimo Maccarone on loan for another campaign.
The club have also confirmed that former Juventus captain Antonio Conte will act as coach Luigi De Canio's assistant next term.
