Messina have cancelled the contract of experienced winger Raffaele Ametrano.Messina have cancelled the contract of experienced winger Raffaele Ametrano, who has quickly signed for Avellino.
The 31-year-old has only been a bit-part player in the Messina side this season and has opted for a parting of the ways.
Ametrano joined the club in 2002 from Napoli and the well-travelled wide man harbours no regrets about ending his association with Messina.
"I'd like to thank all the supporters and Messina's citizens who have been close to me in these years," Ametrano told the club's official website.
"This experience will be unforgettable. I've lived some really good moments in a city that I'll always have in my heart.
"I wish Messina the best of luck and big success that I'm sure they will be able to achieve with big results."
Ametrano wasted little time in finding a new club upon his exit from Messina after he agreed terms with Serie C1 side Avellino.
Meanwhile, Messina have been linked with a swap deal involving Marco Storari going to Cagliari and Gennaro Iezzo heading in the opposite direction.
