The 25-year-old was out of contract with Espanyol and he has now chosen to return to Serie A with Torino.
The keeper came to prominence helping Arsenal to win a league and cup double back in 1998 but his form dipped and moves to Fiorentina and Espanyol followed.
Manninger has the option of a three-year deal should he impress in Turin.
