Serie A: Gonzalo Higuain keeps Napoli ahead of Juventus at summit

Gonzalo Higuain scored a late penalty to give Napoli a 1-0 victory over Carpi on Sunday and keep them top of Serie A.

The Argentine scored his 24th goal in 24 league matches to ensure Napoli remain two points ahead of Juventus, who beat Frosinone 2-0.

Juan Cuadrado broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute and Paulo Dybala added a second late on for Juve.

Inter Milan missed the chance to move third after a 3-3 draw at Hellas Verona that saw Roberto Mancini's side come from 3-1 down in the second half.

Roma narrowed the gap to the final Champions League spot with a 2-1 win against Sampdoria, moving a point behind Inter and two below Fiorentina.

Elsewhere, AC Milan failed to make it three in a row as they were held 1-1 against Udinese.
