Thiago Silva has put an end to the uncertainty regarding his future by committing himself to AC Milan.
The Brazilian defender had suggested over recent weeks that Primera Liga giants Barcelona had made a move to secure his signature.
He soon backtracked on those comments, though, and announced that he was prepared to prolong his association with Milan.
Silva is contracted to the Rossoneri until the summer of 2016 and insists he is happy to see out that agreement.
"I'll stay with Milan until the end of my contract," he told
Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I have just extended my agreement until June 2016 and there is still time to understand whether we can stay together for life.
"I'm now concentrated on the Copa America, but when I return to Italy I will talk to vice-president Adriano Galliani to clear things up."
Deals
Meanwhile, Milan have confirmed that they have bought out the contracts of Kevin-Prince Boateng and Alberto Paloschi.
The pair were part owned by Genoa but are now tied to the Rossoneri.
A statement released by the club on their
official website read: "AC Milan announce they have signed Kevin-Prince Boateng and Alberto Paloschi on a permanent basis from Genoa."
It had been rumoured that Paloschi may be loaned back out, but the striker's agent believes Massimiliano Allegri will give the youngster every opportunity to prove his worth next season.
Tulio Tinti said: "I don't like to talk about the transfer market, but I can say that the boy will be remaining with Milan."
