Juventus are still concentrating on the league title, and are currently just a point behind Internazionale with two games left to play.
However, with only Parma between them and the Coppa Italia, Lippi is keen to play down suggestions that the cup is a non-event.
"We need to win something," said Lippi, "and I think it is vital that we secure the Coppa Italia."
The cup will hand a rare opportunity to Uruguayan international goalkeeper Fabian Carini.
Carini has been a reserve at the club since arriving, and is currently behind the world's most expensive keeper in Gianluigi Buffon.
The custodian is understandably frustrated with life at Delle Alpi and will not play in a Bianconeri shirt next season.
"I will leave the club in the summer," said Carini. "I do not yet know if Juve will sell me or I will be shipped out on loan."
One of the major suitors for the talented shot-stopper is Juve's opponents for the Coppa Italia - Parma.
The Gialloblu look set to cash in on Sebastien Frey who has been in scintillating form since arriving at the club from Inter, and believe Carini would make an ideal replacement.
Parma also have their mind on league matters ahead of the cup final - with a relegation battle still being waged by the club.
With Marco Di Vaio injured young marksman Marco Marchionni wil be handed the chance to make a name for himself.
