The Turin club were said to be keen on Empoli`s Emilson Sanchez Cribari, but the costly nature of the player has prompted Juve to switch targets.
Bonera, 21, has made a huge impression since moving from Brescia, and the Serie A champions are now casting admiring glances.
A reported é¼15 million for a home-grown talent is unlikely to put off Juve, and general manager Luciano Moggi is said to be keen to push through a deal.
Parma, though, are likely to put up strong resistance, especially with Middlesbrough looking at one of their other defensive stars, Matteo Ferrari.
