Palermo have officially announced the signings of the Filippini twins, Antonio and Emanuele from Brescia.
Antonio (pictured), and Emanuele (who had been on loan at Parma), have accepted the transfer to ease Serie A outfit Brescia's financial worries.
The Mario Rigamonti side are yet to be paid any television rights that were agreed at the start of the season and are finding life tough at the moment.
30-year-old Antonio told Giornale di Brescia it had not been an easy choice: "I had contact with Palermo on Tuesday, so I decided what to do.
"It hasn't been an easy choice because I was born in Brescia, but someone had to be sacrificed and at this moment, me and Emanuele are both on the market.
"Brescia couldn't refuse Palermo's offer."
Emanuele, who had been with the Gialloblu, said several clubs had made enquiries about him.
"The last couple of days I have received offers from Siena and Lecce but through my agent, I immediately instructed him that I didn't want to go to those clubs, who, like Brescia, are struggling.
"I'd rather have remained at Parma, despite the difficulties they are having."
Brescia coach Gianni de Biasi admitted that Antonio Filippini's departure was one of true self-sacrifice: "We lose him because we have problems.
"He was in the market and has helped the club earn some money."
Both twins have vowed to return to the club one day and have put themselves forward as possible future coaches.
