New Lazio president Claudio Lotito says they expect to make more surprise signings.New Lazio president Claudio Lotito says that they expect to make more surprise signings after the capture of Paolo Di Canio.
Di Canio arrived from Charlton but Lazio are still keen to add to their ranks for the new Serie A season.
Lotito says that they expect to seal a few more signing in the next week.
"I hope to be able to close the deals on some unexpected moves within the end of the week," said Lotito.
"I don't make proclamations, I speak with the facts."
The moves are expected to include a triple swoop on Parma for Domenico Morfeo, Junior and Sebastiano Siviglia.
The Biancoceleste are also due to offer Portuguese defender Fernando Couto a new one-year deal at Stadio Olimpico.
Lotito says that although some fans are not happy with the cut-price signings they are making, they will not be forced into big-money moves considering their financial position.
"I know some people have not been satisfied by the way in which we are working in the market, but they have probably forgot that I arrived and I found the club in a state of 'coma'.
"It would be easy investing more money and buying big players. But it would be senseless considering there are debts of around é¼300 million."
Lotito is still keen on tempting Roberto Baggio out of retirement, saying: "He would be an added value for the team.
"We are evaluating the possibility of ending this one like the other operations we have completed."
