Iuliano to quit Islanders

Hector Cuper has confirmed that Mark Iuliano is to leave Mallorca and return to Italy.

Mallorca boss Hector Cuper has confirmed that Mark Iuliano is to leave the club and return to Italy.

The defender joined The Islanders from Juventus during last season's winter transfer window and played his part in helping to keep the Balearic outfit up.

However, his family are reported to be unsettled in Spain and he has now decided to secure a move back to his native Italy.

It is not yet clear which club he is to join, but Mallorca have already moved for Portuguese defender Jose Nunes to plug the hole left by his impending departure.

"Iuliano has spoken with me and the president (Vicente Grande) to inform us that he wants to go back to Italy and obviously given that, it's best we allow him to leave," Cuper stated.

"He's going for family reasons."
