Struggling Messina have boosted their defensive options by bringing Zsolt Bognar to Serie A.The 28-year-old left his former club Ferencvaros during December, a move which enabled him to seek out of a new club outside of the transfer window.
Bognar pitched up in Sicily for a trial with Messina and made a positive impression on coach Alberto Cavasin.
The stopper has signed a four-month deal and is due to link up with his new club on Wednesday.
It is 13 years since a Hungarian played in Serie A, with Bognar following in the footsteps of Lajos Detari and Istvan Vincze.
