Stoke boss Mark Hughes has admitted that RB Leipzig striker Davie Selke and Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini are potential options on loan in January.

It is understood the pair, who are currently struggling for first-team appearances at their respective clubs, are two of a number of possibilities the Potters are considering as they attempt to bolster their attack.

Selke - a Germany U21 international - has made just one league start during 2015-16, while Gabbiadini has made only seven Serie A starts for Napoli this term.

Hughes said: "There's a list of players and you make enquiries about potential availability.

"Possibly one of them is available on loan, maybe, if the club or player thinks it's a good or viable option. But there's nothing definite on those names at the moment.

"It's still a bit up in the air on what we'll be able to bring into the squad. We need players who will improve the eleven, markedly if we can. If we go into the market and spend good money it will be on a player who can go straight into the eleven."

Hughes also confirmed that forward Bojan Krkic, who had been unsettled at the bet365 Stadium after a lack of game time this season, will stay beyond January after a meeting with his representatives.
