Oli Hoeness is sure Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose will make a huge impression.Bayern Munich general manager Oli Hoeness is sure big-money signings Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose will make a huge impression next season.
Italy striker Toni and Germany international Klose will form a new-look strike partnership at the Allianz Arena after joining Bayern from Fiorentina and Werder Bremen respectively this summer.
Speaking in an interview with tz newspaper, Hoeness emphasised his belief that the duo will form one of the best attacking pairings the club has ever known in the coming season.
"They are both good in the air, and we have at last got some strikers who are prepared to go in where it hurts," he said.
"Miro is always in motion and the way that the two play football will work together well.
"I couldn't imagine Roy Makaay and Luca Toni playing well together - our game would have been too easy to read."
Hoeness is certainly expecting great things from Klose next season as the German giants look to bounce back after a very disappointing fourth place finish in the Bundesliga last term.
"Miro is a player who can be found on the left and on the right," Hoeness added.
"Last season saw him clock up 16 assists - and I'm expecting him to do the same this year. I don't want him to just score goals, but also set up the others."
Meanwhile, Toni has revealed he turned down the chance to stay in Serie A with one of Italy's top clubs in favour of a move to Bayern, who he says really showed their desire to sign him.
"Other clubs offered the same amount. Who? The three big Italian sides," Toni told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I didn't do this for the money, those who know me, already know this.
"I understood that no one wanted me as much as Bayern. For them I was the first choice, they wanted me. And then they built a team to win the title."
He added: "How do I feel? As you feel before any new adventure - curious, happy and emotional."
