Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger says he is confident he will be fit to start the new season.
The Germany international midfielder has been out of action for over three months following a borrelliosis infection of the knee, but has now targeted the first round of DFB Cup matches on the first weekend in August for a comeback.
"That is a realistic target," Schweinsteiger told sid.
"Things are looking good. I can't subject my knee to full training, but it won't be long now."
Schweinsteiger also emphasized that he had another major goal as the new season gets underway - playing for his country against England at Wembley on 22nd August.
"I have already spoken to Joachim Low and Oliver Bierhoff," added Schweinsteiger.
"This game is a unique occasion and of course I want to be part of it."
