Bayern confident of keeping star

German star Bastian Schweinsteiger looks set to stay with Bayern Munich. The 23-year-old, linked with a summer move to England, is set to sign a contract extension at The Allianz Arena after talks with club president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Schweinsteiger has just over a year left on his current deal but Bayern are keen to tie him down to an extension. "We have held our first discussions and I am optimistic we are going to find a solution," Rummenigge told the club website. "He wants to stay and we are also interested in him staying." Schweinsteiger came through the Bayern youth system and has scored 15 goals in 153 appearances for the senior side, collecting four domestic titles and four German Cups.
